Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. Dear Family, What is on my mind most today is my visit with Wendell yesterday. I guess I will tell you about it with my journal that I wrote last night. It is sort of a little story. I left home at 10:30 with the most wonderful feeling of happiness and joy to be able to go and spend whatever time I wanted to with him. I took my ipad so we could listen to President Nelson's talk for our “Family Home Evening” lesson and some little bars of hand soap for him to be able to put some both in his shower and at the basin. I went, smiling all the way in anticipation of just being with him. I was not disappointed in my hopes. I opened the back door with my card key and headed down the hall to his “Home.” Opening the door with a “Hello, Sweetheart.” I couldn't see him until I walked right...

Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. Dear Family, BORN SAME DAY -This past week when I was making birthday cards I noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. Maybe the Grandparents, Julie & Monte pierce and Peggy & Bruce Royer noticed it on the day it happened and probably I did, but now it was a new discovery for me. Gavin Pierce and Memphis Royer were born on the very same day – January 30, 2009. There are many days of the year that have two of our family born on that day, but not on the same year also. Kathy Smith and Annette Bybee and I went to the temple last Thursday for an endowment session. It was a sweet experience for us to go together since all three of us did not have husbands to go with that day. Kathy's husband passed away about a year ago, Annette's wanted to try out his new fishing pol...

Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. Dear Family, This has been a week of glorious progress for both Wendell and me, total frustration in finding needed information for Wendell's military insurance, & feeling the joy of successes. The progress that Wendell & I have made has to do with the fact that I drove all by myself to The Gables to visit him. It was about a one and a half an hour visit that was not rushed with a lot business. We mostly visited in his room, we played his harmonica, watched TV and then went to dinner together in the dining area of The Gables. The only business that I did was to get his Military Discharge Card from his wallet that I needed. He was happy to help with that. After dinner he said, “I'll walk you to the door. I can't go out with you. Do you know how to get out by yourself?” I...

Christmas Joys

December 27th, 2017 - We are sharing with you the Christmas Joys we have experienced this past weekend in our "Living apart/together" new way of life.  We also want you to know that we have already learned that when we put The Lord's will first everything works out best for us - that is when we pray to know what He would have us do, listen for His answer and then follow His counsel to us we find peace in our heart.  Grandpa and I do that by phone and when we are together in his "home."         The other day when I was there visiting with him he said to me, "Would you like me to give you a blessing?"  "Oh yes!" was my reply.  He gave me the sweetest blessing.  I know that even though his memory is gone for many things he still loves The Lord, prays every day and that the Priesthood he holds is still very strong and active in his life.         We both pray that the goal for all of our family will be to do the will of our H...

Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. December 10, 2017 Dear Family, If you were not here you cannot imagine all the excitement that we had this week with Cindy here for a whole week. She moves like a bolt of lightening and gets so much done in three minutes that it makes me tired just to watch her. Seriously I am amazed at what we got done and had fun doing it.  We waked up Monday morning to the first snow of the season.  She was sweet to respect my nap times so that I could enjoy what we did and that did give her some time to work on her book and visit grandpa. And she did visit him every day, taking many things from his study and other home pictures to make his rooms feel more like “his home.” She also took him out for walks in front of The Gables which he enjoyed and was good for him.  I ...
