Missionary Family

Julie and Monte showing us where they are serving in the Antofagasta Chile Mission.  Elder Aiden Rawlings, son of Nathan and Sarah Rawlings and his companion. He is serving in San Bernardino California. Aiden on the right and his companion on the left.  Aidan inside the truck and his companion. Aiden guiding his companion driving the tractor. Self explanatory.  Sister Aleah Dupree, Brett and Whitney's oldest daughter and her companion.  Serving in Ecuador. I want you all to know that when Wendell and I were on our missions together we found the greatest joy of our life in 1. Just being together, and 2. Being able to teach the gospel to anyone who would listen to us.  Now I am proud of my sweet family -That they are doing the same thing.  Love, Grandma Christensen.

The Christensen garden and flowers

Image
The magic of Spring, Summer and now, Fall is shown in these pictures taken in our gardens around our house. Today this Red Apple tree tells it's story by growing one side filled with bright red apples almost ready to pick.  The other side, on the left tells a totally different story of death: both the apples and the limb are ready to be cut off of the tree and  used for fertilizer.  This is both sad and glad for us because we know that is Heavenly Father's way of helping his growing things to "Sing the Primary song, "Do what is right,"  to fulfill its calling on this earth. Truly we are grateful for this tree that has served us for so long.   This Nectarine Tree is a very  unusual plant to grow because the Deer really love them for their dinner.  So Bruce put this wire around it to keep them from getting to it.  the wires are at least five feet tall to give it enough protection.       The red fruit you can see in the...

Sisters Reunion

Image
August 27th 2022: Sisters gather for a party. (left to right) Wendy, Debby, Grandma Rosalie Christensen, Cindy, Julie, Peggy.  We are standing in front of the Living Room window, loving those beautiful flowers.  What a way to begin our fun time together!  This was a day of fun and games and food.  From here we walked all around the house and saw the trees, flowers, garden in back where we have harvested quite a lot of food that is planted in planter boxes.  So it is easy to harvest the berries, green stems of  asparagus, and whatever else we want to put there.  We then walk clear around the rest of the house and marvel at all the flowers, trees, food and the covered patio to rest on.  We do love our old home were we grew up. Julie showing me the picture I made her for her birthday.  She is going to take it on her mission with her.  I am so glad she likes it. I had requested a copy of her talk that she gave in the conference in thei...

Gene McCloud Erekson FUNERAL

Image
This blog is in memory of my brother- in-law Gene Erekson. He was a good man and a good husband to my Sister Arlene and friend to Wendell and me. He passed away in May. Gene and Arlene's Head Stone near their grave in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.   Left to Right: Marie Baker, Leslie Erekson, David Erekson and Grandma Christensen.  We are treasuring this day when our beloved Arlene, my sister and Gene are back together after such a long time apart. Gene patiently waited his turn to leave the sweet care David gave him as they both wondered when Heavenly Father would call him home.  Now they rejoice with them as they see their names together on their Head Stone in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Peggy,  Julie, Marie Baker, and Grandma Rosalie at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family who could be there surround the casket ready to lower Gene into his final resting place.  Now he can truly rest in peace. Gene McCloud Erekson May 20, 2022     Gene McCloud E...

Happiness Blooms From Within

Image
This beautiful thought came from a packet of pictures Julie gave me to paint for my birthday. Thank you Julie, they have made my life much more fun and beautiful! Mother's Day flowers from Cindy way up North in "Never Never Land", where anything beautiful can be found.  Thank you, Cindy, you are so thoughtful.  And to me, they represent your talented way of making everything  you do become beautiful, useful, welcoming and sharing your love for others with things they can see or feel. Thank you  more than I can put in words!!  Love you tons!! Mom. Cindy's flowers also decorated in front of the pictures of Wendell and me when we were on our mission to Spain.  The picture to it's left is one that I painted of the Incredibly high mountains in the southern  part of Chile.  The picture on the right was painted by my Brother, Ron. When you look at it for several minutes in looks like the water is moving in waves. Brock Pierce.  He has been ca...
