Dear Family,  Here are the highlights of our week: The "Grow Boxes" are doing well as well as the volunteer lettuce.  The raspberries and strawberries are also bearing quite well.  We have bottled 12 quarts of cherry juice and 6 pints of strawberry jam as well as eating lots of fresh berries and cherries.  It is pleasant to sit on the patio and watch the sunset over the shed and as it sends its evening rays onto the mountain.

                        Matt and MaCarmen's family came to visit and help out in however they could.  They picked the strawberries and raspberries, blew the patio, garages and drive ways, husked corn.


Here is Rebekah with raspberries in her bucket.

Below is Matt with his son, Joseph and daughter, Rebekah picking strawberries,  Michael blowing the garage, and Sam husking corn.                                                                                                                      
It has been an interesting week with many learning experiences - like taking Grandpa to Beehive Homes for a few hours to stay there by himself.  That brought a new view of our life for both of us.

Grandpa and I send our love and appreciation to all of you for those things you do for us.

WHEN CHRISTMAS BROUGHT MY BELOVED MARIMBAPHONE TO ME.

 It all started when my Uncle Delbert called my parents on the phone to ask if he could bring his Marimbaphone to our house for a few months since he was painting some of the rooms in his house and he didn't want it to get all dusty.  Vida Swenson, my mom, turned to her husband, Alfred and asked him what he thought.  He quickly agreed to the  plan and within a couple of hours his marimbaphone was standing in our living room.  I watched my Dad play it several times and decided to ask him if I could play it too.  He was as excited as I was that I was asking to play this instrument.  So for several weeks he taught me some simple tunes.  Then one day he said, I think you are ready to play for parties, would you like that?  "Oh Yes!" Came my reply.  And that is what I did until my Uncle Delbert called to say he was ready to come and get his marimbaphone back. So much has happened the last couple of days that is important. So I guess I will begin with the one that is in my heart above all the others. I received this text message from my cousin, Pamela, late this afternoon: “ Dad died peacefully this afternoon. He received a blessing of love from his bishop last week and a visit of love from a former bishop this afternoon. It has been a reverent experience. Funeral Friday. “ This is my reply: “Thank you so very much for letting us know about Uncle John's passing. I'm glad we got to see him a few weeks ago and I'm also happy that he is now peaceful and happy. We are planning on coming down. Jerusha is going to bring us. Love you tons. BLESSED WITH HAPPY ENDINGS

TODAY'S STORY IS ABOUT HAPPY ENDINGS.  Here we see the happy ending to our whole day spent in the ER at the Brigham City Hospital.  I, Grandma Rosalie received a call early in the morning saying that Wendell had been taken there because he passed out sitting at the breakfast table.  Chris quickly took me there and we watched and prayed all day while they did all the tests they could give to determine the cause.  At one point I called our neighbor, Brother Peck to come and help Chris give Wendell a blessing.  Even though he was leaving in an hour to go out of town he came.  The blessing that Chris gave after Brother Peck anointed was a beautiful one of recovery.  I was surprised, but relieved.  And it seemed to me that it was soon after the blessing that he looked and responded to directions better.   After he was discharged with the diagnosis that they didn't know the cause, but to keep close checks on him. We headed for The gables....
