FUN WEEKEND

 "Peace I leave with you.  My peace I give unto you."  "Thee lift me & I'll lift thee and we will ascend together."  These two quotations touch my heart as I think of the many different challenges are present in our family.  We all have our own "cross" to bear; so in that way way we are all different.  But we are all alike in being able to receive help from the Lord and each other.  And that is where we are all different in how we accept that challenge. 


These two roses are blooming at the same time on the same plant.  They are not the same color.  The little one is yellow and the big one is pink.  It is called The Peace Rose.  It starts out yellow and then, as it matures, slowly changes to a delicate pink, side by side of it's sister blossom - like it is following the example to become pink.













On the other hand these lilies are content to be all the same color as they bloom together on the same plant.  Yet both kinds of flowers are beautiful. 
















We are like the flowers.  We are God's creation.  We are His children and have the opportunity to become what he wants us to become (like He is).  How do we do it?  Little by little as we follow Christ's example for us.  As we set good examples for others, each in our own way: some by being light pink, gentle in our examples; others by being immovable in keeping the commandments (like the lilies).



 Some of our family was able to be together this week as we enjoyed doing things in different ways.  Steven and Mary chose to talk to Amazon while the rest of us.....

went out to pick some peaches and enjoy their deliciousness.  Grandma, Noel, David & Jessica had a great time find the ripe ones and tasting them.

                                I think Jessica must have found the most delicious one.

Now we include neighbors as those we see as examples for us:  Jeremy is one of the youth who works in our garden.
 His father, Ron, just finished weeding the beans in the part of our garden that is "theirs" for this year. they agreed that they would like to farm it for their family's use .  Colleen, Jeremy's mother, Ron's wife, is the supervisor.  She has very poor health, but is very active with her teaching their son how to work carefully.

This Jack in the Pulpit is simply unique.


          The ground cover surprised us when it turned pretty after it was watered.  Before it was just solid black.
