Where did 2018 go and how did 2019 get here so quickly???
Here are some samples of things to remember:
This young looking couple -center back- love their 12 children. They (the couple) came to our garage when we were advertising our big bed and mattress for sale last Fall. They were so happy with both of them that they loaded them into their trailer with great plans for them. They live in "Paradise, Utah which is high in those beautiful mountains East of us.
Wendell is looking back in time as he holds a picture of us taken about 50 years ago when we first came to Brigham City. It was taken in the 14th ward building at the celebration of the building being completed. We both helped a lot in the finishing touches. A few weeks ago the casing holding all the pictures and records that had been placed in that little vault was opened and our friend brought this picture to me. Rosalie even helped put the shingles on the roof. Friends are wonderful!!!
Now we are looking back not even a whole month as Wendell holds the little Music Box that I gave him for his 89th birthday. It is reminiscent of how we met - the Snow Man represents Wendell and the girl holding the big snowball is me reminding us of how I threw a snowball at him when he came riding down the street on his bike carrying his trombone. I threw the snow ball at him and it hit him right in the chest. He got off of his bike and threw a snowball at me...but he missed.
It is now a three weeks after Christmas and we are taking the decorations down and putting them away. This is Peggy and Owen happy in their work. Owen found out that that little grandma he is holding plays a tune. Maybe that is why she is such a good cook.
We all worked together and were full of fun with each other.
Now we are at Wendell's home at The Gables taking down his Christmas decorations. This Manger scene was a Christmas gift from me (Rosalie). The little Snow man and girl you know about. The teddy bear has been his companion since he moved into The Gables, but his hat and the balls and flowers are for Christmas. Wendell is standing tall watching.
Wendell and Nathan's conversation was more than interesting as they each tried to understand what the other was talking about. They must have been guessing right because they were happy and laughing.
Now we will move forward to just last week when Dr. "W." and the Simbi nurse came to Check on Wendell. They found him very much alive. Wendell was his "best self" as he answered the questions with adding some of his amazing humor. He checked out "alive and functioning as well as can be expected. They did decide it would be good to shift his one medication that could be the reason he loves to sleep so much during the day to night instead of morning.
As I drove home that evening at dusk I became so interested in the snow covered mountains that I drove around parking lots, up and down hills, in and out of housing areas to find just the right angle to take my masterpieces. This is one of them. I learned that evening time is a great time to get snow shots. The lamp post light is even on. I love to do this kind of picture taking!To be continued...
