WHEN CHRISTMAS BROUGHT MY BELOVED MARIMBAPHONE TO ME.

WINTER FUN - December 8, 2018

Dear Family - We will let you in on some of the fun we are having IN the snow & out of it.

This is the snow man that Peggy made several days before this picture was taken.  If you look closely and use your imagination you can see his face looking down to where he is pushing his stick into the ground.  What do you suppose he wants to do that for?  We would like to hear from you on this question.

Look at this wonderful "memory tree" that Cindy and Grandma Rosalie put up and decorated.  We fell in love with it as we talked about the decorations as we put them on.  There were the 12 figures for the 12 days of Christmas, the woven baskets that Grandma Swenson made, the pictures of several of our family, the stuffed toys that Grandma Christensen made, the clay figures of  Cindy's family that she made, glass figures of animals, stars that were both small and large made by Sister Alice Misceldine, Grandma's neighbor, a chicken that Rosalie made from some of the materials in a Christmas package that Mary Barbour and Rosalie Carol gave her one Christmas when she was little.  And of course the lights with a crouched Angel at the top that Julie gave us one year.  Can you find these items on the tree.  Please let us know.

Left is Cindy ready for a rest and loving our beautiful tree.  She has worked hard to put the lights on it just right while I watched her from the sofa and cheered her on as I rested.
   And right- is the tree all lit up at night that has the angel for you to find.

It is dinner time and Cindy is definitely hungry.  Can you believe that she eats that much in one sitting?

Peggy is ready to use a long wire wrapped with a soft stuff that she bought to put into the bottle spout and guide it down to the next to the bottom cup and maneuver it to retrieve the little piece of hardened salad oil which had been there for at least 6 weeks. We hoped it would dissolve in water.  However that did not happen.  So we were cheering when she was able to work the the rod carefully to the next to the bottom little round cup where the the glob of  salad oil was waiting to be rescued.  Then gently but firmly, she carefully ted the rod until the glob began to rise.  She continued to guide it up and out of the salad oil bottle.  Yay!  Success!  Of course we used it to put on our salad at our next meal.

Grandpa is enjoying the snowy weather alright!!!

Some of us enjoyed indoor games to stay warm as we enjoyed thawing out from the cold of the snow.  Here Jake and Bryce concentrate.  

Jennie and Peggy get the deserts ready.  Of course after playing so hard in the snow it was time for the mouth watering treats that we could choose from.   There were about 14 delicious pies that were hand made by our very talented "Better Halves."

As we come to the end of a perfect day we all relax  and remember it is time those who drove here from Ogden to head for home or stay over night.  After great contemplation it was decided to head for home was the best thing to do before the roads got really bad.  It wasn't long before they were out the door and all of us waving good-by.  The rest of us finished the clean-up and were about to head for bed when the phone rang and guess who it was???   You are right if you guessed it was Nita and Jake and Emily, Jenny and Bryce and their children.  They were home safe and sound!!!  Yea!!!  So Happy Snow Days to all and to all Good Night."
