The Bunny and The Lamb

 THE BUNNY AND THE LAMB

CHRIST GAVE US A WAY TO UNITE WITH THOSE WE LOVE IN ULTIMATE HAPPINESS IN THE PRESENCE OF HEAVENLY FATHER.

Christ made us eternal, as he is. He made our hope, our joy, our testimonies, our lives,and our families eternal through His greatest work of all.

This greatest work, the greatest event in the history of the world - the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ- are what Christians commemorate at Easter.  And yet, there is still the anticipation of Easter Baskets full of Chocolate and Marshmallow Bunnies, colored eggs, jelly beans, candy eggs, toys, and any number of other goodies we could come  up with. 

At Easter time, when we have a day set apart to celebrate the greatest act of  all, how important is it to turn from the Bunny to praise the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." ( John 1:29).  How important is it to go to church any time of the year to partake of the bread and water, an ordinance replacing the Sacrificial Lamb and instituted by the Savior Himself  "as a reminder of His Great atoning sacrifice?  How important is it that we always remember Him and keep His commandments so that His Spirit will always be with  us? 

Apostle Mark E. Peterson said, "Our observance or nonobservance of the Sabbath is an unerring measure of our attitude toward his suffering in Gethsemane, his death on the cross, and his resurrection from the dead.  It is a sign of whether we are Christians in very deed, or whether our conversion is so shallow that commemoration of his atoning sacrifice means little or nothing to us.

Let us not remember this infinite act of love just on Easter Sunday but through every day throughout the year.  Let us not find meaning in the emblems of the Sacrament on just  one Sunday of the  year; but on every Sunday always.  As happened with Adam and Eve, perhaps the message will sink deep into our own hearts as well, and we will be fully convinced that Easter is not really about the bunny, but is all about the Lamb.  

And when we look up at our mountain where we see the monument built to honor and remember our Savior it will mean much more to us

Here is the structure that Brigham City built to house the Easter Falls sign, that Promontory School made to honor the falls that Grandma Rosalie named Easter Falls. See the people looking at the sign that sits beside the hiking trail which you can use to hike to the top of the falls where it all begins.
