A NEW LIFE COMES INTO OUR FAMILY,
This is the new little life that was born to Chris and Rosie just a few days ago. Today we had a Zoom meeting with Chris, Rosie and Wendy to meet this darling little boy.
His name is Rowan Peter Wendell Rawlings.
Born August 18, 2021 and weighing a grand 7 lbs. & 5 oz.
Sleeping was his main interest today. Only when we were about to sign off did he wake up, and that was because Chris changed his diaper and we learned that he has a very strong way of saying "Thank you," to the brave "changer."
He is darling when he wakes up and expresses himself quite loudly. It made me want to pick him up and give him big hugging loves to let him know he was all right.
And so on and on he slept until whenever he waked up, whenever that was. We had to leave to have lunch according to our lunch-time schedule. You understand the "spoil Grandma so she won't start losing weight thing." So we left little Rowan in Chris' arms and they both seemed happy!
Wendy gets to stay there to help with little Rowan and that is what she has been looking forward to for a long time. Then what should happen to her on the way, was that she was delayed overnight. She got to stay in a hotel but didn't have her luggage or makeup. She was very tired.
But she carries on anyway.
Now we are on our way to Chanelle's where we stopped for lunch at Wendy's - as you can see. This was to take Cindy there to help Chanelle and play with her boys before she returned home to Boston. Cindy looks forward to that visit and says it just doesn't happen often enough.
I love to be with my daughter and granddaughter even for a little while. We always find the funny things = like...
Channie doing her "Guess what I am doing? pose.
And Cindy making sure she has enough to drink as she walks back to our table...
... which passes Peggy and me getting a "kick" out of Cindy and Chanelle. We have been having such fun!
As we leave Wendy's these kind "Western " gentlemen stood up and held the door open for us with big smiles. Now isn't that the greatest of "Western" manners? At least we were impressed
So much for our visits this week. And big loves to everyone. Grandma Christensen.
