Julie and Monte put up their Christmas tree early so that it would be up when they come home from their vacation to Disney Land where they can be "Kids" again.

Do you suppose that Santa will come while they are gone?



Monte and his sister's friend who has had a hard time adjusting to living alone.  However, she has found a place that provides everything for her and she is free to go and come as she pleases.  So now she feels safe and happy.
 
We are watching a family movie that Matt's boys are making copies for the whole family.  They are so smart.

By the way, the movie is about the families when everyone was little and doing all kinds of crazy, interesting things.  They hope to have a copy for everyone.  Wow! 




There is my favorite dog ever.  I fell in love with him several years ago and I know he fell in love with me too.  And when we first arrived he came up to me and licked my face like he always used to do.  So he got a big kiss from me too.

I didn't used to believe that would happen to me, but I am glad it did.  It is kind of like Heavenly Father is showing me how he loves all of His creations.

What a day!  What a day!  What a wonderful day!


Well what do you know we caught Nita on her birthday.  And so did Jake.  He has been showering her with gifts of love all day.  I do believe he even made that Birthday Cake.  And I have noticed many beautifully wrapped presents in front of the Merimbaphone.  So it is a sure thing that everyone is in on his plan.

SO A BIG "HAPPY BIRTHDAY'' from all of us to last all year long.

Now it is time for the "After Dinner Game.  Games, to this family are importantly serious.  You can see that on their faces.  Peggy is next to the wall, Mary by her and then Jake. 
 As I watch them I wonder how they keep track of everything, but they do.  And when the game comes to an end the cheers come from the winners like they had won hundreds of dollars.

              That, too, is part of the fun!!





Here is happy Peggy seeking to find the answer to a very old puzzle.  One of my uncles made it for our family long ago.  He used to do different kinds of things to challenge us kids.  And he is still doing it.

So HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

By the way, if you come to our house I would be glad to get them out for you to try.







Now here is another kind of a puzzle.  Mary  and Bruce are hiding something. Emily is sitting next to Mary.

 Jake and Nita are trying to guess what it is.  Can you?

You can't?  When we untangled that pile on the sofa there stood Mary and Emily.












So we now come to the "So long, farewell" to our Thanksgiving letter with the wish for you that the next month will be just as fun with Christmas coming along.

 It all started when my Uncle Delbert called my parents on the phone to ask if he could bring his Marimbaphone to our house for a few months since he was painting some of the rooms in his house and he didn't want it to get all dusty.  Vida Swenson, my mom, turned to her husband, Alfred and asked him what he thought.  He quickly agreed to the  plan and within a couple of hours his marimbaphone was standing in our living room.  I watched my Dad play it several times and decided to ask him if I could play it too.  He was as excited as I was that I was asking to play this instrument.  So for several weeks he taught me some simple tunes.  Then one day he said, I think you are ready to play for parties, would you like that?  "Oh Yes!" Came my reply.  And that is what I did until my Uncle Delbert called to say he was ready to come and get his marimbaphone back. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege.” September 24, 2017 Dear Family, I hardly know where to start. So much has happened the last couple of days that is important. So I guess I will begin with the one that is in my heart above all the others. I received this text message from my cousin, Pamela, late this afternoon: “ Dad died peacefully this afternoon. He received a blessing of love from his bishop last week and a visit of love from a former bishop this afternoon. It has been a reverent experience. Funeral Friday. “ This is my reply: “Thank you so very much for letting us know about Uncle John's passing. I'm glad we got to see him a few weeks ago and I'm also happy that he is now peaceful and happy. We are planning on coming down. Jerusha is going to bring us. Love you tons. God bless you and help you ...

BLESSED WITH HAPPY ENDINGS

TODAY'S STORY IS ABOUT HAPPY ENDINGS.  Here we see the happy ending to our whole day spent in the ER at the Brigham City Hospital.  I, Grandma Rosalie received a call early in the morning saying that Wendell had been taken there because he passed out sitting at the breakfast table.  Chris quickly took me there and we watched and prayed all day while they did all the tests they could give to determine the cause.  At one point I called our neighbor, Brother Peck to come and help Chris give Wendell a blessing.  Even though he was leaving in an hour to go out of town he came.  The blessing that Chris gave after Brother Peck anointed was a beautiful one of recovery.  I was surprised, but relieved.  And it seemed to me that it was soon after the blessing that he looked and responded to directions better.   After he was discharged with the diagnosis that they didn't know the cause, but to keep close checks on him. We headed for The gables....
