HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022

To start the New year right Peggy made these beautiful rolls.  Great Grandma helped form them into cute bird balls and now we can see her painting melted butter on them.  Yum, yum.  That makes my mouth water.  How about yours?

What a fun way to start the New year having a fun, funny, loving and surprising time with the Teddy, Britt, Glen, Fin, and Nora Royer Family!!!
This is our bunch preparing to create a fun game.  From left to right Grandpa Royer, Glen, Fin, Peggy, Nora, Brit. & Teddy.
Great Grandma Christensen joins them in the picture below.

This was a totally new game for all of us, so it took a bit of learning to get it going.  But "doing" it was - Fun.

Our attention turned to the "Player piano" that had been revived for us about 10 years ago by its new owner who repaired it for us.  But it will stay here until Great Grandma Christensen is no longer with  us.  When Teddy and Brit. asked us who the "owners" are I had to do some research to remember...but the winner won out again...his name is Jesse Pierce.  I wonder if  He remembers the story.  I goes like this: One day several years ago Jesse and his family were visiting Grandma and Grandpa Christensen.

Someone was playing the piano on automatic and it sounded terribly slow.  REALLY TERRIBLY SLOW.  "Is it always like that? asked Jesse.  "It sure is!"  Replied the whole family.  Would you like me to fix it for you?" questioned Jesse.  The  unanimous answer was a loud "Yes!"  And so that is how it came to be fixed.
    I am wondering if he even remembers that after he fixed it we promised that when Great Grandma leaves this life the piano will become his.

The Royer family is getting ready to leave so Nora has her doll that she loves so much ready to go.  See it strapped to Nora's back.  They definitely are good travelers.

and look how happy her doll is.  Now they just need to join their mom and dad, get a big hug from all of us and hop in the car and they will be off.

Here is the picture I promised you in our last blog showing how the blue picture that Emily and Mary showed us how to make looks so pretty in this "Blue Corner.

What do you think??

                                 NOW COMES THE BIG SURPRISE!!!

Two years ago when Jesse was an investigative kind of man;
and to judge how that description fit him then observe how he figured out how to fix the piano.

The day he figured out what needed to be done for my very valued piano he literally took it all apart and put it back together.  I was worried that he would never be able to put it back together. I asked why he did that.  He replied, "That is what you do when something isn't working you take it apart.  He couldn't figure out what was wrong the first time he took it apart but he kept at it, taking it apart and putting it back together over and over again.  It was necessary to take it apart and put it back together in the proper way.  He had to try several different ways to get it back to the correct "Together."  Each "Together" had to be tested." So he put it back together until it finally worked right.   It has worked right ever since.  Teddy and Brit's family decided to play it, and it worked perfectly.  So a BIG "THANK YOU JESSE, THE MASTER MIND OF THE NEW YEAR!!!

We send this unusual New Year greeting with lots of love and best wishes for a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.   Tons of love from Great Grandma Christensen, & Peggy & Bruce Royer.
