Christmas Joys

December 27th, 2017 - We are sharing with you the Christmas Joys we have experienced this past weekend in our "Living apart/together" new way of life.  We also want you to know that we have already learned that when we put The Lord's will first everything works out best for us - that is when we pray to know what He would have us do, listen for His answer and then follow His counsel to us we find peace in our heart.  Grandpa and I do that by phone and when we are together in his "home."         The other day when I was there visiting with him he said to me, "Would you like me to give you a blessing?"  "Oh yes!" was my reply.  He gave me the sweetest blessing.  I know that even though his memory is gone for many things he still loves The Lord, prays every day and that the Priesthood he holds is still very strong and active in his life.         We both pray that the goal for all of our family will be to do the will of our H...

Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. December 10, 2017 Dear Family, If you were not here you cannot imagine all the excitement that we had this week with Cindy here for a whole week. She moves like a bolt of lightening and gets so much done in three minutes that it makes me tired just to watch her. Seriously I am amazed at what we got done and had fun doing it.  We waked up Monday morning to the first snow of the season.  She was sweet to respect my nap times so that I could enjoy what we did and that did give her some time to work on her book and visit grandpa. And she did visit him every day, taking many things from his study and other home pictures to make his rooms feel more like “his home.” She also took him out for walks in front of The Gables which he enjoyed and was good for him.  I ...

Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. Hi Sweet Family, Today is a special day. Heavenly Father provided me with an unexpected gift. When we got to church and Bishop Crowther announced that today is Fast and Testimony Meeting I couldn't believe it. My mind immediately said, “No way can I bear my testimony today.” But then I began thinking, “I know I need to. For my own good I need to. To thank the Lord for all His help and thank the ward for all their help.” After the Sacrament was passed and the Bishop and two others had shared their testimonys I felt literally lifted off the bench, standing to wait for the microphone to be brought to me. In about one minute I shared my feelings as I watched the microphone in my hand shake like a leaf. As I sat down I thanked Heavenly Father for His gift to me and for The Lord's help. ...

Family Motto Thee lift me and I'll lift thee and we will ascend together. “ Be happy. Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege. Dear Family, This has not been an average week. No sir-re-bob. Thanksgiving, two visits to Grandpa at The Gables, errands down town, both Sacrament meeting and Sunday School, & walks around the house. That's what I call “personal progress.” They were not “solo” events, but just the fact that I was there and going strong was a huge step forward. Also I was able to get the Fall finishing touches on the lawn done by our ever-smiling Sariah. Now there are no leaves to be seen and it is mowed to perfection. THANKSGIVING: Karen, Ben, Peter and Tommy came clear from South Salt Lake to bring Thanksgiving dinner – THE WHOLE THING – to me. (Chris was with Josh and the children in Eagle Mountain.) I was spoiled rotten! Karen had everything planned and mostly prepared except for the turkey which...
