YOU NEVER KNOW If you will remember that today is March the 24, 2019 and that : Some of the OLD STUFF that you have may be very valuable. The other day my Ali's Angel and I went through the Emergency Bags that Wendell and I had put together a long time ago. We took out the “stuff” that seemed good to save and put it in boxes. Then I invited Mark Dupree to come and go through the “stuff” to see if there were any things that he would like. He said that they still need to get more Emergency Bags for his family and would like to check it out. We did so together, piling everything in categories: food, clothing, being lost, medical, cooking, survival etc. Some of the things that were there were from Wendell's military survival “stuff” and both Mark and I were excited to think how “cool” and exciting those would be to use. Honestly we got so excited over them that we can hardly wait to see how his sons like them. Soon my kitchen counter was filled, ready to share,...

TOO SMALL

TOO SMALL – March 17, 2019 Dear Family, “If you think you are too small to make a difference – consider the bite of a tiny mosquito.” That is a quote from something I read or heard and I just jotted it down without a reference. But it has come to mean a lot to me. Today, reading this week's Church news I was so impressed with the article titled, “Events in Rome are a 'hinge point' for the world. It quotes Pres. Nelson, “The church is going to have an unprecedented future, unparalleled. We're just building up to what's ahead now.” It brought to my mind that the world has been preparing for this since Adam (Michael the archangel) and Eve were placed on the earth. Joseph Smith brought The Book of Mormon, The D&C, & The Pearl of Great Price. Our Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Presidents each have added revelations for building the Kingdom of God. The thousands of missionaries have taken “The Word” to tens of thousands of peopl...

BE NOT AFRAID

“BE NOT AFRAID” March 10, 2018 Dear Family, The past three weeks has been a battle for me because of the battle I had with my car and the shelves I park it next to. For those of you who don't know, three weeks ago when I came home from visiting Wendell and grocery shopping I parked the car in the garage next to the shelves where I always park it. Then got the bags of groceries out of the trunk. Then I decided that I would get something out of the front seat of the car. Opened the door on the passengers side and swung it open, reached in to get whatever it was, when that door swung to close and smashed me against the shelves. I got a hard blow to my left neck and my left hip. I hurt so bad I wasn't sure I could get into the house. Since than I have had much help from those “Ministers” in my ward who gave me a blessing and those who came to my assistance. Then I had another challenge come to me when I waked up a couple of days ago and could hardly wal...

What Should Never Be Forgotten

Image
What Should Never Be Forgotten by our family from this day February 24, 2019 to forever.  Though the story is about another family it also applies to our family also. Wendell in his prime & Rosalie Wendell today This story came out of the BYU Magazine this month. Part 2 - Did you know that the Bible Dictionary is like reading a book.  It takes you through stories of whoever or whatever you are looking for.   While my friend, Kathy Smith and I have been studying in our new Church Recommended "Come  Follow Me" we learned many things about John the Baptist and John the beloved.  Two Johns that were very important in the life of Jesus Christ. John the Baptist had the authority to baptize through the priestly descent of both of his parents, Zacharias  & Elizabeth who were descendants of Levi.  John prepared the way for the Mesiah (Jesus Christ) to come and made ready a people to receive him.  He had been baptizing before ...

Weekend to remember

Image
Weekend to remember: It began on February 17 with an 8:30 am. ride with Emily Royer to attend the blessing of little Willow Rose Allen, the daughter of Jennie and Bryce Allen.  We joined the family members at the the chapel where several were already gathered.  The blessing took place as planned with Bryce giving a very precious blessing and curly black haired Willow adding her loud message which must have been "Thank You." Bryce, Jennie, Peggy with River, Gr. Rosalie with Willow Rose, Maylynn, Owen After the meeting we all gathered at the Allen home where Jennie and her family helpers had prepared a delightful Brunch which was served to the adults upstairs and the children downstairs.  This made for a much more well organized visiting and playing time for everyone. Peggy Royer, Gr. Grandma Rosalie Christensen & Bruce Royer It was a wonderful time for me and I think for everyone in the upstairs category to share what was going on in our lives as we got rea...

GIFTS

Image
GIFTS: Lets start off with a few of the gifts of God that everyone has that are free: light, darkness, rain, snow, wind, plants, animals. What others can you list? Now let us take a look at the free gifts that most of us have: We can see, hear, speak, smell, eat. What else can you think of? Heavenly Father gives us these gifts totally free, just because he loves us. However he also gives opportunities to use those gifts to become like Him, to inherit a place in the Celestial Kingdom where he lives. So lets look at just one of those free gifts he gives us and see what we could make of it that would help us to be worthy of the Celestial Kingdom: for instance “to see.” You choose which gift you want to talk about. Make up a little story about it, or it could be something that really happened. Example: I Saw a lady wandering up and down the street looking for her dog. It was a tiny dog and she was afraid that someone had stolen it or maybe it got hit by a car or else...

CONTINUING  LOOKING BACK Santa visited The Gables.  He made a special visit to Wendell in his room after greeting those in the main room.  Jannie, the Director of The Gables took this picture and sent it to me on my cell phone. It is precious to me. Family Group picture for 2018 taken by Matt. Pierce with his Drone. When Wendell could go visiting we went to see Mark and his family at their place.  Wendell was able to enjoy those kind of outings and you can see he was happy here. Look who gets a ride in Wendell's wheelchair at his home at The Gables.  Aubrey is having fun too, pushing Emery. Wendy & Wendell checking out pictures on her cell phone during her Christmas visit at his home at the gables. Mark came to put a mew metal base frame for the bed in the bedroom downstairs at my home.  here he is just getting started. Here he celebrates being finished.
