TODAY'S STORY IS ABOUT HAPPY ENDINGS.  Here we see the happy ending to our whole day spent in the ER at the Brigham City Hospital.  I, Grandma Rosalie received a call early in the morning saying that Wendell had been taken there because he passed out sitting at the breakfast table.  Chris quickly took me there and we watched and prayed all day while they did all the tests they could give to determine the cause.  At one point I called our neighbor, Brother Peck to come and help Chris give Wendell a blessing.  Even though he was leaving in an hour to go out of town he came.  The blessing that Chris gave after Brother Peck anointed was a beautiful one of recovery.  I was surprised, but relieved.  And it seemed to me that it was soon after the blessing that he looked and responded to directions better.   After he was discharged with the diagnosis that they didn't know the cause, but to keep close checks on him. We headed for The gables....

Dear Family, This has been quite a week of decision making. I have been thinking of selling the Cabin since income tax time when I realized how much a year it costs to just own it whether or not any of us can go there: almost $4,000.00. Then there is the upkeep on it. That involves the outside also which requires lots of manpower. Since all of us are growing older our children's generation can't handle it or live too far away. Their children, our Grandchildren, who have been so willing and excited to help or make the changes that were needed both inside and outside the cabin now have jobs & children of their own that take up the time for working at the cabin. Or they live so far away that it is not possible to do it. Therefore I decided it would be best to sell it. So for those o...

 THE FUNNEST STORY EVER TOLD really began last spring when I planted Asparagus by seed.  It came up nicely, but could not be eaten for two more years.  So when winter came we bent the little plants over and covered them with top soil to keep them from being frost bitten.  This spring I looked at the brown earth in the grow box that had no green showing at all and wondered what would happen this year - if they would even grow at all.       Several weeks went by - nothing.  Then one day I went out with Jeramy, our young man who gardens for us, and to my total delight there were some little shoots coming up.  I got so excited that I am sure Jeramy thought I was a bit loony.      You can see in this picture how they are now - ranging from new shoots to tall lovely ferny shoots, some even have seeds on them.  Now my dilemma is how to care for them at this point.  So, as usual I will ask my cell phone.  It knows ever...

Let discouragement be a challenge, not a defeat; an opportunity & a privilege.” May 10, 2018 Dear Family, The biggest news for this week is that Grandpa can now play three songs on his harmonica. When I was with him Saturday I handed him his harmonica as I was putting his newly laundered clothes away. Suddenly I heard the music of “Come, Come, Ye Saints” floating out of his harmonica. I was so pleased that he is getting so he can do that on his own.   The next biggest news is that our Asparagus is doing really well. Since I planted it by seed it takes three years to be productive (edible). But anyway it is pretty. And the directions say that you may be able to harvest a few stocks the second year (smile – that is this year). Yea, we'll see. Our Snow Ball bush is coming out beautifully now. Dear Family, When I was talking to Peggy she shared the great news that Mary is preparing to go on a mission. At first she decided to continue in school on a scholarship she has. Then after praying about it she decided to go on a mission first and immediately started filling out the papers to apply. Peggy and I are so excited! I think the whole Royer is. Now you all can be too. The first part of the week I Visited Wendell and got some neat shots of him on Marco Polo to share with our family. They liked them. They were of him holding the air plane that he had made out of a long pack of life savors and a stick of gum. He was sitting at a table with several of the residents – all making air planes. CHRIS AND GRACE MOW THE LAWN      Grace had never mowed our lawn before with our lawn mower so Chris was teaching her.  These are some of the fun pictures that showed his patience with her and her patience with him and how they had a good sense of humor.
