HEAVENLY FATHER HELPED ME FIND A JOB

Image
HEAVENLY FATHER HELPED ME FIND A JOB AND MORE This day of February 29, 2020 we are going back in time to about 1983.  If you are ready and curious hop in our computer time machine and away we go. There I am walking down the street to visit Sister Walker, one one of the sisters in our ward.  This is one of my Favorite responsibilits as the Relief Society President.  She has been ill for some time and her husband is needing some kind of help for her. As I walk up the stone path to their front door a woman about my same age comes out the door and walks toward me.  We smile at each other and introduce ourselves.  "Hi, my name is Rosalie Christensen.  I am Sis. Walker's Relief Society President."      " Hi Rosalie, I am Mrs. Walker's care-giver from Social Services.  I see her once a week.  How long have you known her?"   About five years, I guess.  That was about the time I went back to school.  I just graduated ...

REVELATION UNDER THE TREE

Image
REVELATION UNDER THE TREE - Tuesday February 18, 2020 There I was, sitting under the only tree I could see in the area I had been assigned by our stake Mutual leader in our early morning breakfast meeting.  You see, it was that time of the Summer that we had the opportunity to go to M.I.A. (Mutual Improvement Association) for the time of our lives.  We were all excited about all the fun we would have and we already had done some really neat games and training in how to administer help to someone who had been hurt.  Now this morning we were going to learn how to really communicate with Heavenly Father.  Sooo... The first thing was listening carefully for the instructions: "Go to a place anywhere in our camp area and pick out a spot where you can't see anyone and no one can see you.  Be sure to take your blanket, a pillow, a note book, pencil and your scriptures with you.  When you have found the spot spread your blanket out, put your scriptures, and the ...

TRUST IN THE LORD

TRUST IN THE LORD When I was about 14 or 16 years of age I learned a scripture in Seminary that has guided the rest of my life. Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.” At the time I learned those powerful words I didn't know that those few words would prove to be my guide through many turning points in my life. I think my mother must have known that scripture too, because she suggested very strongly that I ask our Stake Patriarch, Bro. Eves, if he would be willing to give me my Patriarchal Blessing. I promised that I would & I did. When my parents took me to his home he made sure I was comfortable, and then he spoke to me in the quiet way I picture Heavenly Father would talk to me. I immediately felt a peaceful feeling that let me listen closely to all his words. One thing that he told me was, “Be careful who you choose to marry; that is a ver...

CHRISTMAS GIFTS OF LOVE

Image
Gifts of love come in many ways.  On the first Christmas Eve we were given the greatest gift of all time. Outside we give thanks to that greatest gift with the lighted manger scene that goes up every year.  This year Peggy and Bruce put it up along with the lights.  Inside on the piano all year round we remember the birth of our Savior with the Nativity scene we bought in Spain when we were on our mission there.   The Olive Wood carvings also came from Spain when we visited the place they were manufactured.  They were made by hand, not on a machine.  You can tell because they do not stand on a base like those made by placing the model in the middle slot of the duplicator machine and putting the pieces of olive wood in their places on each side of the model.  Then when the machine is turned on the cutting knives follow the pattern the pattern of the one in the middle.  These two scenes remain in place all year as a constant reminder...

WINTER FUN - December 8, 2018 Dear Family - We will let you in on some of the fun we are having IN the snow & out of it. This is the snow man that Peggy made several days before this picture was taken.  If you look closely and use your imagination you can see his face looking down to where he is pushing his stick into the ground.  What do you suppose he wants to do that for?  We would like to hear from you on this question. Look at this wonderful "memory tree" that Cindy and Grandma Rosalie put up and decorated.  We fell in love with it as we talked about the decorations as we put them on.  There were the 12 figures for the 12 days of Christmas, the woven baskets that Grandma Swenson made, the pictures of several of our family, the stuffed toys that Grandma Christensen made, the clay figures of  Cindy's family that she made, glass figures of animals, stars that were both small and large made by Sister Alice Misceldine, Grandma's neighbor, a ch...

THANKS FOR THANKSGIVING

Image
THANKS FOR THANKSGIVING What a day it was as part of the Royer family gathered at Grandma Christensen's home in Brigham City on a very snowy day to celebrate Families, Food & Fun.  Only the very brave dared to "hit the road" to be part of the grand party to give "thanks" to Heavenly Father for our great country and the many blessings we enjoy.  Here is just a "taste" of what we put on our activity plate.     Peggy and River, the very young and the young in heart prepared to go outside and build a snow man.  Competition will be fierce in this game as you can see by the expressions of Jake, Nita, Bruce and Emily.     C "Lets just rest a while."  Agree Gr. Christensen and Owen.    R "Remember how we used to do this?"  Says Bruce to Emily.  "Yes" she replies as they both give out and crash to the floor. "We've had it."  Say Jennie, Bryce, Bruce and Emily.   Just time to rest bef...

FAMILY EVENING WITH GRANDPA

Image
Friday November 15, 2019 - Family Home Evening with Grandpa.  Dear Family, Today turned out to be red letter day for us because it has been many days  even weeks since Grandpa has actually talked making any sense.  We have had to guess what he was saying by picking up a word or two here and there.  But today when I went in to see him it was a different story.  He was alert and asking questions that made sense: Like, Can you come and sit by me?  I replied, "I am sitting by you."  He smiled a tender knowing smile and said, "No, not you."pointing to me, "you..." pointing to the picture of us on the wall by the window. I was startled and amazed as I realized how he was thinking.  "Oh sweetheart, I see what you mean.  You are so smart!  I will explain how it can be like I said.  He was all smiles & questioning frowns as I went on to tell him that the Me in the picture is not alive, but rather a copy of me made by a camera and the...
