Vida Leon Fugal and Arthur Alfred Swenson Stories are Fun And Best Medicine.

Image
Here we see a picture of Vida Leone  Fugal Swenson in the prime of life, having held most of the positions a woman could hold in those days and doing a full fledged job of each of them: Relief Society President, Teacher, Visiting Teacher, and Grade School teacher.  It is The Angel's Halo that tells the story is her Halo of recognition.  I noticed this a couple of weeks ago when I was working in my computer room. She sang in the ward choir that Alfred directed for 30 years.  The choir members loved him so much that each time he told them he thought he should let someone else enjoy that calling and retires.  They would not accept that retirement because he, not only was a perfect teacher, but taught with a loving heart with tender directions and corrections. Vida was always there for her children's activities and recognition's.  And Daddy was by her side to let the children know how they loved them.  When all their family was born they had 2 Boys: Alfred...

Why Celebrate Easter? 2021

Image
April 1, 2021 I have one question for you: Talk to your inner self and ask why YOU celebrate Easter.  Please write it down for me and email it to me if you don't want it known by everyone.  Thank you so much!!! This is the Easter Falls Memorial that we can see with our binoculars from our patio in the back. Dear Family, Today I have been thinking about the Easter day that we hiked up the mountain and saw the Easter Bunny hopping down the hill a little way from us.  At least we were sure it was because it was Easter time.  And besides that he was carrying something in his mouth that looked like an Easter Basket.  We watched where he went and decided to walk carefully and quietly to where he went.  He might still be there.  But if not maybe he left the Easter Basket there.  Raise your hand if you want to go there.  Almost all their hands went up so we decided it was worth a try, "Walk as quietly as you can."  Grandpa whispered, and off we ...

...and still smiling!  Monday - March 15, 2021  This month we celebrate 11 family birthdays : Grandma Rosalie Christensen 90 years old - March 11, 1931, Kami Dupree - March 19, Frank Dupree - March 1, Cindy Barlow -March 8, Jason Mott - March 14. Quintin Pierce - March 8th.  MayLynn Allen - March 8.  Fin. Royer March 3,  Mary Royer - March 28. Eli Mott - March 10 - Jacob Mott, March 21 My daughters asked their families to send one word that would describe Grandma Christensen for them.  Peggy took the words and put them into "word art."  This was the families gift to me for my 90th Birthday.  We hung them up on the wall for us to see. I--- Grandma, was amazed at this description of me.  And after thinking about how I hope to become all those things, I decided that I can make you all a promise that, even if it takes forever I will not stop trying.  Is that an OK deal with all of you?  Please reply! I love you all so much!!!!...

FUN WITH GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN

Image
Dear Family,  We hope you all have fun with this month's Blog.  Peggy, Bruce and I, Grandma Christensen, love the times we spend together.  And you know that we love to take pictures!  Only one thing could have been nicer for this, Emily's 25th Birthday Party  & family get together = having everyone in the family there.  But we all know that is almost impossible, so we will be happy with what we can get. Now for the fun stuff: In this darling picture are Teddy, Brit, Grandma Peggy, Nora, Grandma Christensen, Finn, & Glen.   What a great family to start with!  Or to end with.  That might be determined by how Teddy does with his new "at home" super talent for making special kinds of knives and other metal things which is a fine hobby.  What is the saying?, "Life is full of a number of things .... that could make us all be happy as kings."  Maybe your knives will bring you that blessing.  Although you all look l...
