Yes it all took place last Saturday, October 27, 2018.  What a wonderful thing to bring two more special people into our family to include in our Motto: "I lift thee and thee lift me and together we will ascend."  The pictures tell some of the story.  Sorry some are sideways.  The wedding dinner was held at a lovely restaurant where  Mark & Wendy treated us to a wonderful experience of ordering the item on the menu that we liked best.  Left to right - Mark, Rachelle, Chris, Rosie, Wendy, & Grace.  I, Rosalie, took the picture.  Rosie had many helpers to put together the lovely wedding and reception.  This friend of hers is adding the gold trim to the perfect red tiered cake she made. October 13, 2018 - Patriarchal Blessings.   It was January 19, 1947  when I was 16 that I received my Patriarchal Blessing.  As I listened to the Patriarch's words carefully and read it later these words stood out to me above all the rest, "Walk uprightly so that your life might be happy.  Choose a good partner in life.  That is a very important thing; that, to choose a good partner in life.  So I bless you with wisdom, health and good judgement so that you might be wise in your choice." At that time I was going with a young man.  We had talked seriously about marriage.  When I read my Patriarchal blessing and prayed for the wisdom that Patriarch Eves had promised me I knew what I needed to do.  I had to tell him that I no longer could go out with him and we could not be married. And I did it very soon.  It was not easy.  In fact it was the hardest thing I had ever done.  But I knew it was right. Then a wonderful thing...

"I lift thee and thee lift me and together we will ascend," again our family Motto meshes with something else = "Saints" is a new series of books that have been compiled from the histories of Joseph Smith, his wife, Emma, his mother, Lucy Mack Smith, Orson Pratt & Joseph F. Smith, with comments about the book by Skousen & Hart and others.  Plus it tells the story that is in the D&C and the Book of Mormon.  However it is written in an exciting story form. Julie and I were talking about it and we are both convinced it adds many surprising things to the knowledge that is given us in the D&C and bears witness to both the D&C and the Book of Mormon. Personal Revelation is the basis for our Family Motto: I lift thee and thee lift me and together we will ascend.  Today, Sunday Sept. 9, 2018 I, Grandma Rosalie Christensen want to start a little series of stories about Personal Revelation in my life.  This goal was given to me when I watched Pres. Nelson's talk that taught us that it is VERY IMPORTANT that we each learn to receive personal revelation. My first story is inspired by Mary Royer, our # 34 missionary to serve from our family, who will be leaving for her mission in a few days.  And Mary, Grandpa and I are so proud of you for making that choice.  We will be thinking of you and praying for you every day that you will remember to seek for your own personal revelation as you meet the challenges that will come to you.  They came to us when we were on our three foreign missions.  Those stories will come another day. Picture This on September 4th 2018 Dear Family,  Remember our Family Motto, "I lift thee & thee lift me & together we will ascend," as you look at the picture of Grandpa and read the report about how he is doing.  I am leaving out a lot of details.  Since he had another fall last week and is experiencing a lot of pain his pain medication has been adjusted to make him more comfortable.  This makes him les coherent.  So our visits are rather non-visits.  BUT HE TRIES HIS BEST.  The one big thing that I get from him is that he thinks he is doing some sort of mission where he teaches people to be more kind to each other.  Isn't that like Grandpa?  He still will play his harmonica for me.  And there was only one day that he didn't recognize me at first when he was "preaching kindness" as I walked into the room and he totally ignored me as if I wasn't there.  He did know me after he stopped teaching and looked at me saying, "Who ...

THANK YOU is the August 26, 2018 Subject for our Dear Family, First we want to thank Julie for her many hours of "blood, sweat, and tears" in planning our 2018 Family Reunion. Her figuring, re-figuring, sending numerous emails, adjusting several things to fit individual family needs, taking charge at Maddox, where she introduced a new wording for our family motto.  It is every bit the same meaning as the original so we are changing our Family Motto to read:             "I LIFT THEE & THEE LIFT ME AND TOGETHER WE WILL ASCEND" Thank you Julie for all the other things you did which are so many, and done with such a sweet understanding spirit.
