CONTINUING  LOOKING BACK Santa visited The Gables.  He made a special visit to Wendell in his room after greeting those in the main room.  Jannie, the Director of The Gables took this picture and sent it to me on my cell phone. It is precious to me. Family Group picture for 2018 taken by Matt. Pierce with his Drone. When Wendell could go visiting we went to see Mark and his family at their place.  Wendell was able to enjoy those kind of outings and you can see he was happy here. Look who gets a ride in Wendell's wheelchair at his home at The Gables.  Aubrey is having fun too, pushing Emery. Wendy & Wendell checking out pictures on her cell phone during her Christmas visit at his home at the gables. Mark came to put a mew metal base frame for the bed in the bedroom downstairs at my home.  here he is just getting started. Here he celebrates being finished. Julie and Monte visit Wendell at lunch time. ...

Looking Back & Looking Forward

Image
Looking Back & Looking Forward Where did 2018 go and how did 2019 get here so quickly???   Here are some samples of things to remember: This young looking couple -center back- love their 12 children.  They (the couple) came to our garage when we were advertising our big bed and mattress for sale last Fall.  They were so happy with both of them that they loaded them into their trailer with great plans for them.  They live in "Paradise, Utah which is high in those beautiful mountains East of us. Wendell is looking back in time as he holds a picture of us taken about 50 years ago when we first came to Brigham City.  It was taken in the 14th ward building at the celebration of the building being completed.  We both helped a lot in the finishing touches.  A few weeks ago the casing holding all the pictures and records that had been placed in that little vault was opened and our friend brought this picture to me. Rosalie even helped put the s...

Christmas Mystery and Miracles

Image
CHRISTMAS MYSTERY & MIRACLES The day of December 26 th was quite amazing. I spent most of the day with Wendell. Mark and his family joined us in the afternoon and brought with them the wonderful Family Tree picture that Debby and Miranda had made for us. I was so excited to see it and Wendell was confusedly excited. He wasn't able to understand how to tell how to identify relationships, but he knew it stood for our family and he loved everyone. We all expressed our amazement of this creation that makes it easier for me to get an accurate count of our family. It was the next day that I found out the miracle about it's delivery. I Called Debby to let her know we love the gift she sent – the family tree picture. Then she told me the whole story of how come Mark was bringing it to us personally. I thought she had mailed it. She laughed and said that Mark was taking pictures of me on “Polo” as he gave it to me to open. Then explained that instead of ma...

Merry Christmas

Image
Merry Christmas this December  20, 2018 Our Christmas letter this year is one of THANKFULNES for our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are so grateful that he was willing to offer himself so that we can have the blessings and opportunity to become as He and His Father are, knowing and feeling perfect love for all of us & living in total happiness in the Celestial Kingdom. That is the sweetest goal we all can strive to attain. So we are thankful for the testimonies that Wendell and I have and share with each other when I visit with him. He always asks me, “Are we married?” “How long will we be married?” “Do you have other husbands?” Then we talk about how Jesus Christ has made it so that when we are resurrected we will be together again FOREVER. He has a big smile for that part of the story. So do I.  He loves to have visitors like when Nita came to visit him.  He was full of smiles for her fun and interesting stories and felt much happier and wanting to be mo...

That's Progress

Image
"That's Progress," I think when I look at our Family Motto, "I lift thee and thee lift me and together we will ascend."  So this is a report of Grandpa's and Grandma's PROGRESS last week.  The pictures tell the story: Last Monday I took my clippers with me and performed a miracle cut on Wendell's hair.  It had gotten out of control.  Left - All ready to cut.  Right - all finished.  Just at my tall handsome husband! Tuesday found us having fun playing shut the box.  Wendell was sharp as a tack.  He could count the dots on the dice, recognize the numbers on the pegs and turn them down without any problem.  Dr. Brent visited him this day & said he was doing well.   This was the calm before the storm.  On Wednesday, when Peggy was going to pick me up to go to Jennie's to see their new baby an the rest of the family I got a surprise when I went to see Wendell he was totally irrational, couldn't do anything for...

Technically Speaking

Technically Speaking                                                              November 9, 2018 "Technically Moses is the first man to download files from the cloud using a tablet."  (I found that quote in some article I read this week & it started me thinking about how we receive revelation.) Downloading files from The Deseret News Voices pages 10 & 11 - "This is the power of gathering - it inspires us, delightfully to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful, more alive." (American chf & Author - Alice Waters)  Gathering in uplifting groups is strengthening to each individual.  An example I had...

Wedding Bells for Chris and Rosie

Image
Yes it all took place last Saturday, October 27, 2018.  What a wonderful thing to bring two more special people into our family to include in our Motto: "I lift thee and thee lift me and together we will ascend."  The pictures tell some of the story.  Sorry some are sideways.  The wedding dinner was held at a lovely restaurant where  Mark & Wendy treated us to a wonderful experience of ordering the item on the menu that we liked best.  Left to right - Mark, Rachelle, Chris, Rosie, Wendy, & Grace.  I, Rosalie, took the picture.  Rosie had many helpers to put together the lovely wedding and reception.  This friend of hers is adding the gold trim to the perfect red tiered cake she made. Chris is patiently waiting in the hall-way for the festivities to begin.  This sweet poster was displayed showing their courtship pictures. Wendy pins the rose on for Chris. Grandma Rosalie must...
